3 Simple Tips To Promote Your Music Website
1. Join Social Networks / Communities
TWITTER: Great for micro blogging and keeping in touch with your fans / followers, also good tool to use when promoting a new release.
FACEBOOK: I don’t have one myself but we all know facebook has somewhat taken over and there are millions of people signed up to it.
YOUTUBE: People like to see visuals it keeps them interested, Producers can put beats on YouTube but the viewer may become bored very quickly if you do not have a visual to go with it so make a little video for the next beat you upload or even better make some tutorials or vlogs (weekly or monthly) and keep people interested.
SOUNDCLOUD: I think everyone pretty much knows about this one now but in case you don’t SoundCloud is a great way to put your tracks out there and for people to directly comment on particular tracks leaving you with valuable feedback.
BANDCAMP: Similar to SoundCloud but not really. (LOL, if that makes sense) I would say check it out, a lot of people sleep on bandcamp but its a great tool to have.

NOTE: This is from a old thread (July 2010) on Future Producers.. I did not write this and to some extent agree with the information, so I copied and pasted for all to benefit.
To understand EQ and its intricacies you need hands-on experience, but to help you get started, here’s a table of general uses and the different ranges that EQ can affect. As every sound is different, though, these are necessarily very general guidelines…
Kick Drum
Any apparent muddiness can be rolled off around 300Hz. Try a small boost around 5-7kHz to add some high end.
50-100Hz ~ Adds bottom to the sound
100-250Hz ~ Adds roundness
250-800Hz ~ Muddiness Area
5-8kHz ~ Adds high end presence
8-12kHz ~ Adds Hiss
Snare
Try a small boost around 60-120Hz if the sound is a little too wimpy. Try boosting around 6kHz for that ‘snappy’ sound.
100-250Hz ~ Fills out the sound
6-8kHz ~ Adds presence
